Press Release: Meals on Wheels Welcomes Linda Carter to C-Suite Role as Organization Enters New Chapter of Growth

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Aug. 13, 2026

CINCINNATI—Meals on Wheels of Southwest Ohio and Northern Kentucky recently welcomed Linda Carter as Chief Human Resources Officer. She started her role this month and will oversee HR strategy for the nonprofit’s 146 employees. An accomplished HR leader, Carter brings 30 years of workforce planning, talent strategy, change management and business partnership.

With Carter’s hire, Meals on Wheels is well positioned to continue its growth for a new chapter of service. In April 2025, the nonprofit launched the Driving Into the Future Campaign—a $30-million campaign to create scalable solutions that improve the lives of our community’s seniors and support families and caregivers with essential resources. The centerpiece of this campaign is the construction of a new headquarters and meals production center in Columbia Township. Construction started last November and will be completed around the first of the year.

Says Meals on Wheels CEO Mike Dunn, “Linda’s depth and breadth of HR experience will serve us well as we transition into our new headquarters. She will play an integral role in ensuring our staff is prepared to support a growing senior population’s increasing needs.”

Prior to joining Meals on Wheels, Carter held HR roles with Bosch USA, Pomeroy, U.S. Bank, Ashland Inc., Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center, Amazon and Cordis.

Says Carter, “After 30 years in HR, I wanted my work to connect directly to people’s lives. Meals on Wheels’ mission to serve our community of older adults does just that. I’ve been a resident of Northern Kentucky for 18 years and my kids have grown up here. Working for an organization that serves the community I live in is very meaningful. It’s like getting to be a good neighbor every day you go to work.”

Carter’s expertise will support and strengthen Meals on Wheels’ new five-year strategic plan, Paving the Way Forward, which went into effect in January. The plan provides a roadmap for expanding organizational capacity, strengthening financial outlook and advancing service offerings. Fueling our own workforce through strategic recruitment, training, leadership development and succession planning is one of the plan’s main goals. Carter specializes in employee engagement, performance management and performing in-depth assessments about team needs, translating feedback into action planning and acting as liaison between employees and institutional stakeholders.
