Supporting seniors' independence and protecting their dignity
Meals on Wheels employs licensed social workers who provide a variety of social and protective services that respond to seniors' safety and well-being. We work with families, caregivers and care managers to ensure seniors are safe and their basic needs are met.

Personal Financial Management
Seniors are especially vulnerable to scammers. We help them manage and protect their money so they can live independently and without major financial setbacks. We support seniors further by providing independent living assistance that alleviates challenges with essential tasks like responding to mail and scheduling appointments.
Senior Care Coordination
This special self-pay program provides assistance to seniors to help them solve everyday challenges. This can include finances, housing and coordinating services to support personal care needs, legal issues and medical issues.
Guardianship
When seniors reach a point where making decisions for themselves is too difficult (whether it’s due to illness or when incapacity endangers their health or safety) the court can appoint us to step in and become their guardian to make decisions on their behalf.
Home Energy Assistance Program (HEAP)
Meals on Wheels is working with the Ohio Department of Development and The Council on Aging of Southwestern Ohio to offer assistance to older Ohioans during the winter months. HEAP helps Ohioans at or below 175 percent of the Federal Poverty Guidelines for a household of up to eight members and 60 percent of State Median Income for a household of nine or more members to pay their heating bills. Read additional details here. HEAP benefits are applied to an individual’s energy bill after Jan. 1. Applications for the HEAP program must be received by May 31, 2026. For more information or assistance with applying for a HEAP benefit, contact Meals on Wheels of Southwest OH & Northern KY's Social and Protective Services team at 513-661-2777 then press Option 4.
