For decades, the story of Meals on Wheels of Southwest Ohio and Northern Kentucky has been written by partners who understand a simple but powerful truth: Caring for seniors is not optional; it is essential to the strength of our entire community. Among those steadfast champions, Carol Ann and Ralph V. Haile, Jr. Foundation stands out as a transformative and enduring force behind our mission.
The Haile Foundation is an independent family foundation dedicated to enhancing the quality of life for residents in our region. They concentrate their efforts and resources in areas about which Carol and Ralph were most passionate: arts and culture, community development, education and human services.
In 2024, the Haile Foundation made a significant gift to our Driving Into the Future Campaign—a transformational effort to expand services and grow our organization to serve more seniors, caregivers and their families throughout Southwest Ohio and Northern Kentucky. The Foundation’s generosity helped us build a solid foundation of giving and support.
Led by the original vision of Ralph and Carol Ann, the Haile Foundation is widely known as a pillar of the Greater Cincinnati community. They have consistently supported organizations that strengthen vulnerable populations, bring communities together and improve the quality of life for our area. Their partnership with Meals on Wheels reflects that commitment by supporting essential services that help seniors remain nourished, independent and connected.
Haile Foundation President & CEO Bernie McKay says, “We need to judge society by how they care for their elderly, and that's so important. We do that here in Cincinnati and in greater Northern Kentucky.”
From early investments in our predecessor organizations to their gift to the Driving Into the Future Campaign, the Haile Foundation has backed programs that directly impact older adults in our area. They have truly demonstrated what it means to stand for the well-being of seniors.
Meals on Wheels CEO Mike Dunn says, “It cannot be understated the impact the Haile Foundation has had on Meals on Wheels and more importantly on our community at large. The vision of Ralph and Carol Ann holds true today and will for many generations to come.”
The Haile Foundation’s investment in Driving Into the Future Campaign ensures that we can be prepared for today’s needs, tomorrow’s challenges and next year’s ever-growing senior population.
We are proud to honor the Carol Ann and Ralph V. Haile, Jr. Foundation as our 2026 “Much More” Award Honoree at the 2026 Meals Madness Gala on March 18.
