The Thanksgiving holiday truly kicks off a season of giving. When we gather with loved ones for a hearty meal and give thanks, we usher in the holidays and embrace the spirit of the season. Our annual Bust-a-Crust Thanksgiving pie sale, presented by Sara Lee Frozen Bakery, brings together these traditions while staying rooted in Meals on Wheels' mission—to deliver essential services that promote seniors' independence and well-being. This delicious fundraiser helps Meals on Wheels clients, community members, partners, sponsors and volunteers alike share a common holiday bond.

How Bust-a-Crust Works
Meals on Wheels collaborates with community sponsors and partners to sell thousands of pies. Our team members and volunteers then come together to package up thousands of pies the weekend before Thanksgiving during a feel-good, community-driven volunteer event at Hyde Park Community United Methodist Church. The week of Thanksgiving, Meals on Wheels delivers pie to our clients, senior center partners, community members and everyone who placed a pie order!
Order Thanksgiving Pies
This year, all pies have been generously donated by Sara Lee Frozen Bakery. You get to enjoy a tasty selection of Sara Lee's favorite seasonal pie flavors. Here's how they describe them:
Apple: Our classic pre-baked apple pie filled with orchard-fresh Michigan or Washington apples and a hint of cinnamon and sugar, finished with a golden flaky traditional open-weave crust
Pecan: A tender golden flaky crust is filled with naturally sweet filling, topped wall-to-wall with delicious pecan halves and pieces
Pumpkin: A classic Fall favorite that starts with a tender golden flaky crust, filled with a lightly spiced pumpkin filling that's full of flavor

Why Your Purchase Matters
Bust-a-Crust is much more than a pie sale. It is a community-fueled fundraiser that supports essential services for seniors. We reach nearly 11,000 older adults every year throughout 13 counties in Southwest Ohio and Northern Kentucky. Proceeds from all pie orders and gifts directly benefit the nutrition, connection and protection we provide that keeps seniors independent in the comfort of their own homes.
